what you learned is dangerous around your house

What I learned that is dangerous around my house was that paint is hazardous but you do not dump it in the hazardous bin and i learned that you can recycle air freshener but not the abrasive cleaner, for hazardous bin you can dump all the pesticide, drugs, and drain cleaner, but u cannot dump motor oil or latex in the hazardous bin, also for the trash you can dump the light bulb and batteries in there.

There are many ways to improve the planet for some of the basic way to improve the planet is by help clean the environment around you. You can also walk to a store that is like 2 -3 blocks away instead of driving a car 2 -3 block, because it can cause air pollution. A good idea is to bike there to get your exercise. What actions that people can take is by picking up trash off the floor, even small scraps when you see some around of the floor even picking one up can make a big difference in the world

Many different species try to keep themselves living as long as they can, by killing to survive like if a hawk wants to eat or has to eat to survive then they would hunt for food and they would hunt for mouse, or other foods that they eat or if a cheetah needs to survive they would hunt for deers to eat.

If the population is isolated then the world has a change which may be deserted or dead but, there are chances that a new species that might come in causing the evolution to be newly born. Population evolution can be started when two of the same organism breed together, or also when two or more species reproduce.

I think that the next thing that would happen to our world is either the ice age or our world would be covered in water .I think that in order to balance the world to the state it once was the planet would create another iceage of undo all the bad things we have done to our atmosphere.And to freeze up the water we have melted .Or the world would just flood and we would all become like fishlike beings (mermaids) and once land start to reappear we would start to adapt to land again

what you learned about Mendel and gentics from the book

what i learn about Mendel is how Mendal found out about genetics how he is growing pea plants and seeing how much come green, small,round or different color. Mendal Threw peas to keep his students away and counted how much peas he had grown which would take alot of patience because there would be hundreds and thousands of peas to count and look at how green they are or how tall or round.

What is a clone? How are they made? Is cloning a good thing?

clones is good for extinct animals but bad for human because it would be really scary for you to see someone who looks like you but Is not really you.To make a clone you need to take out a Mature cell for the animal you want to clone and then give the egg cell to anthor animal and and insert the cell to a mother and when it is born it will be identical to the animal that gave the egg cell.

The important issue in genetics today is obesity, because lots of little kids around the world are gaining weight like crazy and they are only age 2-3 or maybe higher. parents should do something about this, because it is unhealthy. Being fat is not good for your health and you will be look down by people or be laugh at and called names.
We could solved that problem by stop going to fast food restaurants or go like once every month. Other things you could do is give your kids more vegetables and fruits. instead of giving them sodas give them fruit juice, because soda have a lot of gas and its bad for you.
Being obese is not a good thing, because it brings you down when you are doing sports and you are easily tired. I know what it feels to be obese. you get talk about behind your back and people always criticize you for your weight and your look and your everything.

If I had a gene that gave me a higher risk I would/ wouldn't want to know because....

if i had a gene that give me a higher risk i wouldn't want to know, beacuse if i know i would always be worrying on what to do and what not to. if you don't know then you would not be worrying that much about your life condition and do whatever you want to. another thing is that once you know that you have a higher risk then you might go crazy and start thinking of all the treatment for it and if you find out there is no treatment for it you might so suicide, cause you can't accept the fact that is true.

DO you think mutations are good or bad? Why?

In biology, mutations are changes to the base pair sequence of the genetic material of an organism. Mutations can be caused by copying errors in the genetic material during cell division, by exposure to ultraviolet or ionizing radiation, chemical mutagens, or viruses, or can occur deliberately under cellular control during processes such as hypermutation. i don't think that mutations are good beacuse it is cause by genetics, and once it is caused by genetic you can't do anything about it cause it is in your gene and there is no treatment or cure. if it wasn't cause by genetic then you might have a little bit of hope for your disease or what not.

What about Grergor Mendel has surprised you the most so far?What did you think was the most interesting about him?

What is the thing that surprised me about Gregor Mendel is that he discover genetics. it is kind of funny how people would have the knowledge to discover genetics. if it was me i don't think i would have had the knowledge to discover such a thing like this.

What are your goals for biology this semester? How are you going to try to accomplish them?

My goals for this semester is to get good grades and complete all my homework for each and every one of my class. In order to do that I will finish my homework on time in order to give it to the teacher on the due date and try to be on class on time by going to class straight after the bells ring. Another goal I want to accomplish is to meet more new people and get to know them good enough to hang out with. Also prove to my brother that I am not pathetic. That is all that i want to accomplish for this semester.

What surprised you about the disease you did your project on?

i was surprised that this disease is contagious, and you could transferred it to someone by laughing or coughing. It is a very harmful disease. this disease is called . I am so glad that none of my family members have it, because having a disease is very painful and it makes you just wake to go suicide. You'll have to go to the doctor to check up every month or week, and it is a very hard job if your busy and you have to take time out to go to the doctor just to checkup. So yeah i am really surprised on what the information said about this disease.

What physical traits do you think you get from your parents? from your grandparents? Do you have any traits your parents don't have?

I don't think i have any genetics from my parent beacuse a lot of my relatives says that i don't look like niether my mom or dad, so i think i an the special one in my family. I am glad that i don't like any of my parents because that prove that I am different from them and not the same. Although sometimes i get butt hurt when my relatives say that you might be adopted since you don't look look neither one of your parent. But I pretend like I don't give a damn about it. Now I realize that i do have something in common with my dad. Which is a bad thing because I don't want to look like my dad. =]
